POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking proficient and enthusiastic individuals to join our team at the Wantirna Club. Join us as a casual Chef, where you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and passion for creating exceptional dining experiences. As a vital member of our kitchen team, you’ll contribute to delivering high-quality meals for our patrons. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and cook delicious and visually appealing dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, timing, and presentation to meet customer expectations.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and inventory management to maintain freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Adhere to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards to uphold the Club’s culinary reputation.
- Work efficiently under pressure, multitasking to fulfill orders promptly while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Health and Safety regulations, promoting a safe and hygienic work environment.
- Support junior kitchen staff and foster strong teamwork and communication to enhance overall operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant, bistro, or hospitality environment.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (minimum Cert III & IV Cookery).
- Demonstrated culinary skills with a focus on quality, presentation, and flavour.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and professionally with colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and health and safety.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required in the hospitality industry.
