Experienced Chef

Chefs are responsible for:
· Determining production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
· Recruiting and hiring staff, including cooks and other kitchen workers.
· Supervising and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
· Analysing recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour and supplies.
· Collaborating with Senior chef other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, considering such factors as seasonal availability if ingredients and the likely number of customers.
· Planning, direct and supervising the food preparation and cooking activities.
· Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
· Checking the quantity and quality of received products.
· Recording production and operational data on specified forms.
· Estimating amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
· Preparing and cooking foods of all types either on regular basis or for special guests or functions.
· Ordering or requisition of food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
· Coordinating planning budgeting and purchasing for all the food operations.
· Monitoring sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
· Arranging for equipment purchases and repairs.
· Instructing cooks and other workers in the preparation cooking garnishing and presentation of food.
· Determining how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
· Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
· Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
Skills and qualifications required:
· Trade certificate/s in Cookery or Hospitality or Apprenticeship
· At least 3 years’ work experience
· Quick on your feet.
· Honest and reliable.
· A can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.
· The ability to work under pressure calmly and professionally.
· Excellent kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
· Ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
· Available during weekdays and weekends.
· Punctuality and consistent attendance.
· Ability to multitask
· A willingness to learn from others and share with the team to support continual personal growth.
