We are seeking a passionate and innovative Chef to join our dynamic team at a bustling vegetarian cafe, which also transforms into a night-time restaurant two nights a week. We are also an onsite bakery and pastry production kitchen. Key Responsibilities:
Execute a diverse and enticing vegetarian menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at our cafe, while incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
Assisting Head Chef and kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring that all dishes are consistently of the highest quality and in line with the cafe’s ethos.
Help curate and present a special vegetarian evening menu for our night-time restaurant, elevating the dining experience with creativity and finesse.
Help Manage food inventory, coordinate with suppliers, and maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards at all times.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a chef in a vegetarian or plant-based culinary environment, with a strong understanding of vegetarian cooking techniques and flavour profiles.
Adept at menu planning, recipe development, and the ability to craft innovative and appealing vegetarian dishes that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences.
Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
A keen eye for detail, a passion for staying abreast of culinary trends, and the ability to deliver exceptional, high-quality dining experiences across different meal periods.
Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications, along with a commitment to sustainability and ethical food practices.
