Chef De Partie

L’Hotel Gitan is a modern French/European inspired restaurant owned and run by the ever expanding Reymond Group (includes Bistro Gitan and Frederic). Located in Prahran, L’Hotel Gitan offers a casual dining experience to the highest quality and standards.

About the Role:

We are seeking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our ever expanding team. The successful candidate must be passionate about food, keen to showcase their ability in fast-paced environment and have great communication skills.

Skills required:

· At least 8 years’ experience as a professional Chef

· Grill and pastry experience will be looked at favourably but not necessary

· Passionate about working with great produce and being part of a professional kitchen team

· To be able to keep up high quality standards and to multi task in a busy environment

· To work within a team, follow direction and lead junior staff

· An ongoing commitment to improving your product knowledge – in addition to our extensive menu offering, you have the opportunity to create daily specials and cook across a range of sections

· A culinary education is highly desirable, but not always necessary

· Experience working in European restaurants is an advantage

· Demonstrated experience in high volume, fast-paced restaurant environment

· Excellent communication, delegation and leadership skills

· Resilient and able to perform in high-pressure service periods

· Strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude
