Join our crew at Double Roasters Café based in Marrickville. We are searching for skilled chef to join our team at this beautiful café preparing fine Modern Australian dishes.
About the Role:
Your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Supervision and participation in daily food production of approved menu
- Menu Planning as per customer demand and market requirements within the company budget.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining food stock, food portion control, waste management, and stock purchase (receipt and storage)
- Ability to accurately monitor production cost and efficiency of menu items
- Ability to monitor sales mix, customer demand, and conduct special promotions.
- Ability to accurately monitor par levels of the food stock, kitchen equipment and inform management of additional stock requirements as needed.
- Ensuring that all food is cooked properly and served on time and that is presented correctly.
- Able to handle equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies, and tools effectively and as per requirements.
- Work to set guidelines and ensure food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation are always maintained to a high standard
- Supervising the kitchen staff and train new staffs as required
- Understanding application of food safety and HACCP systems
- Maintain high kitchen standards in all areas of operation, food hygiene and safety, food quality, and preparation.
- Interpret and analyse all kitchen information including kitchen reports, audits, and documentation to mitigate risks and problems and ensure compliance obligations are being met.
- Improve operational efficiency of the kitchen by adhering to and improving kitchen policy and process.
About you
Experience in Modern Australian background is a definite advantage but chefs with solid café and restaurant experience will be considered. Our food is produced in house so only hands on chefs with thorough knowledge and preparation skills sought.
We require our staff to be well groomed, well prepared, with thorough knowledge of Kitchen Hygiene and safety and a willingness to accept training in Italian methods and techniques. If you are passionate about your food we want you.
Other requirements include:
- Trade Certificate IV in commercial Cookery
- At least 3 years’ experience as Chef
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Team player and supportive of a culture of teamwork
- High food standards in taste and presentation
