Responsibilities:

• Chef’s role is to run the kitchen.
• Contribute to a profitable kitchen, 100% compliance with roster, commitment to strict portion control and minimal wastage.
• Compliance with work practices and standards.
• Work closely with the Head Chef, Management and the kitchen team.
• Communicate effectively with fellow staff in the kitchen and front of house.
• Obey instructions from employer and work cooperatively. 

Main Duties:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of dishes. 
• Oversee orders during service. 
• Maintaining stock control and ordering supplies.
• Writing and costing of menu and create daily specials. 
• Delegate tasks to other kitchen staff. 
• Practicing proper workplace health and safety procedures. 
• Ensure work area is of the highest cleanliness standards. 
• Provide fast and efficient service. 
• Ensure all meals are prepared and presented in a professional manner, maintaining high standards of food, hygiene, and health and safety practices. 
• Assisting in clearing the kitchen. 
• Other incidental and peripheral duties as requested by the employer. 

Qualification & Experience

Essential Skills:

• Ability to work effectively, efficiently and safely in an unsupervised environment.
•  Ability to follow direction by senior members of the team.
• Commitment to following company food safety procedures. 
• Ability to work effectively as a team and contribute towards a harmonious environment for all staff and customers. 
• Good communication skills. 

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold an AQF Certificate IV (or equivalent qualification) 
• At least two years of employment experience in a similar role
