The Gympie Sports Club is powering along and growing, and we continue to look to expand our team.

As we grow, we are promoting within, and the time has come for our team to move up the ranks.  Due to the promotion of existing team members, we are seeking a passionate hard-working Chef to support our Head Chef, Sous and the rest of our kitchen team. Please don't be fooled this position is very fast paced and you will need to bring your " A " game to the table. 

We are well established in the Gympie food scene and continue to be the choice of locals and visitors to kick back wine and dine and enjoy the service and the view. Our innovative menu provides a dining experience for those who want to get away from the run of the mill. However there are plenty who just come for the good old fashioned dishes that are our driver.  Good service, quality and consistency are key components of our success.

The Position

• Continue to drive towards consistency and success
• Lead from the front in setting the standard for all staff
• Ensure adherence to compliance and safety standards
• Uphold and enforce all company policies and procedures
• Maintain a high standard of quality control and attention to detail
• Provide input and suggestions on menu items and daily specials

Attributes/Skills

The successful candidate will possess:

• The skills to manage, run and work in all sections of the kitchen.
• Energy, enthusiasm and dedication
• Excellent time management and the ability to multitask.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule to suit the needs of a hospitality business including nights and weekends.
• Food Safety Certificate and sound knowledge of the application and implementation of it's principles.
• Able to work all sections of the Kitchen (Grill, Larder, Pans etc)
