Chef (Subiaco) Residential | Hospitality Closing date: 28/01/2024 Bethanie, Western Australia’s leading not for profit aged care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and caring for seniors for over 65 years. We strive to lead the change in the way Australians think about ageing, recognising ‘old age’ as a positive force in society and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale. We currently have a vacancy for a qualified Chef to join our team at Bethanie Subiaco Aged Care Home on a permanent part-time basis (22.5 hours per week).

Bethanie Subiaco is a 112 bed luxury facility that provides the full range of aged care services including dementia support, palliative care and respite services. We are looking for someone who is available to work Monday, Thursday and Sundays from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, with the ability to provide coverage from time to time for annual leave or sick leave coverage. Key Responsibilities: Manage the preparation and cooking of meals on site Produce well-presented nutritious meals using fresh ingredients where possible Assist in the menu development where practicable

Order all food stuffs and stores necessary to produce menu items within budget guidelines Adhere to the approved cycle menu on site Manage portion control and wastage on site Ensure all dietary requirements for residents are met Act on customer and supervisor feedback in order to evaluate and improve service Direct and train staff on appropriate food presentation and preparation techniques Comply with Food Safety programme and procedures as outlined in the Hospitality manual Comply with any relevant legislation covering food safety i.e. Food Act and Food Standards Code Requirements  Previous experience as a Chef/ Cook catering for 100 people Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent Ability to supervise other members of staff when required Experience in ordering food stuffs, and awareness of waste management Excellent time management skills Empathy towards the elderly and specific dietary needs Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards code Willingness to uphold the vision, mission and values of The Bethanie Group A current police clearance or willingness to get one Working with Bethanie
