With headquarters in the town of Blackall in Central Western Queensland, 900klm west of Brisbane, Council is seeking to appoint a suitably skilled and motivated applicant as their Chief Executive Officer to lead the Organisation and support our active community.
This position represents an exciting opportunity to develop your profile in the Local Government profession. It demands effective leadership, a strong and driven work ethic and a track record in sound financial management.
As CEO you will provide leadership to multiple staff and manage the current budget of $32m. You will engage and develop staff to build capacity, teamwork and organisational efficiency; whilst also engaging the community and fostering cooperative relationships with key stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you must be resourceful, operate with integrity and have an understanding and passion for the lives of the people in rural Australia. Ideally you will have significant experience in senior management and knowledge of the responsibilities of a CEO and Local Government, together with a good understanding of the dynamics of (Outback) Tourism. This opportunity will fully utilise your strong interpersonal skills and your excellence in leadership and communication to really make a difference to the Blackall-Tambo community.
