Company Overview:
Our client is a leading freight forwarding and brokerage company, with international associated companies in China and Hong Kong, based in Sydney Australia, specializing in providing logistics solutions and licensed customs clearance to clients' businesses worldwide. We are now seeking a dynamic and experienced CEO to lead our client to new heights with relevant industry experience and an existing network.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monthly Reporting to Board: Prepare and submit comprehensive written reports and submissions to the Board within 21 days of each month's end, starting August 21, 2024. This would include but not be limited to period P&L reporting, current balances, operational plans or recommended changes, as well as budget forecasting and setting aspirational targets.
2. Sales and Organic Growth: Drive sales to increase revenue as well as foster organic growth with their existing clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction is maintained. Sales reporting to the board based on pipelines and forecast new business to manage expected cash flow.
3. Marketing and Business Development: Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new clients as well as a marketing strategy to increase the public presence of the company, including and not limited to, building social media presence and other online marketing avenues.
4. Finance and Accounting Oversight: Working closely with the current accounting team, overseeing finance and accounting functions, including annual forecasts, budgets, and performance measurement against aspirational targets agreed with an experienced Board.
5. Human Resources Management: Lead human resources management efforts, including the oversight of new contracts for existing and new employees/consultants, ensuring clear communication and compliance is understood and is in line with the overall group. Implement regular performance review and targets process.
6. Continuous Education and Improvement: Implement initiatives for continuous education and improvement for all managers and potential managers, regular education on all changes and opportunities within the industry. Implement and ensure cross training of various departments.
7. Cashflow Management: Provide oversight and assistance to accounts teams regarding cashflow, ensuring financial stability and sustainability, with regular reporting to stakeholders.
8. Business Right-Sizing: Evaluate and optimize business operations to support forecasts and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and alignment of current staff with strategic objectives and growth strategy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience with a proven track record of success in the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth, foster client relationships, and lead organizational change.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute business plans to achieve company objectives.
- Experience in human resources management, including talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends in freight forwarding and logistics.
