As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of QV Institute (QVI), the CEO will lead the organisation in providing domestic and international students with meaningful pathways to employment, further study and research opportunities, and in supporting them to become community leaders.The CEO will be responsible for the efficient and effective operational deployment, management and monitoring of the strategic direction of QVI. The CEO will report to the Board of Directors and Academic Board (“Boards”).The CEO will be an ex officio member of these Boards.The CEO will foster positive relationships with relevant stakeholders such as shareholders, employees, consultants, industry and domain experts, communities, students and their families.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDuties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to -Strategic> Make a leading contribution to the development and implementation of the strategic plan as approved by the Board.> Fully support the corporate and academic boards in their governance roles including the development and review of policies, ensuring the provision of expert advice and timely, transparent information.> Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with TEQSA including leading the process of preparation and submission of registration and accreditation applications to TEQSA.> Lead the development, implementation and on-going review and if needed, revision of the business plan to secure the Institute's future, which is focused, responsive and relevant to the industry and profession.Management> Ensure the effective management of the Institute's operations, academic and non-academic, including the development of staff, ongoing performance monitoring, the adoption of sustainable practices and the introduction of value-adding innovations.> Manage the development, deployment and quality maintenance of Institute procedures and standards that ensure compliance with Institute policies and with statutory, legal and regulatory requirements such as the Higher Education Standards.> Ensure comprehensive risk management processes and monitoring systems are in place and that the Institute meets its legal, environmental, social, and financial obligations.> Foster and promote a culture within the Institute that aligns with the Institute's values.Financial> Oversee the development of the annual budget and long-term forecasts as well as regular financial reports for consideration by the Board> Oversee the effective deployment of the approved budget to maximise Institute performance specifically in provision of quality higher education, including through staff recruitment and infrastructure provision.Other> Advance the Institute's reputation and standing by facilitating positive relations with stakeholders, key external bodies and target audiences of community and professional sectors.> At all times, act in accordance with the Institute's values, complying with the Institute's Code of Conduct.ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Appropriate qualifications and experience relevant to the position.
- Possession of police check and working with children clearance
- 5+ years of relevant higher education senior management experience including significant expertise in complying with regulatory requirements of TEQSA, ASIC etc
- Proven proficiency in senior operational management including strategic plan formulation and deployment, engagement with corporate governance, business development, and financial and risk management.
- Demonstrated capability in building and maintaining an engaged, effective and proactive internal team and productive relationships with external stakeholders including government, professional and community groups.
- Evidence of effective communication and negotiation as well as strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, personal drive, strong professional integrity and ethics, and commitment to the mission of the Institute.
