Building on the strong reputation of NT Respite Care Plus within the Disability community, and working closely with the Board, the primary purpose of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is to create a sustainable, commercial and person-centred environment that enables NT Respite Care Plus to continue to flourish and grow, and deliver strong outcomes for clients and stakeholders. The position will ensure NT Respite Care Plus is positioned as an “employer of choice” and leading national advocate and provider for people with disability
In this role, the CEO is responsible for:
- Working in partnership with the Board to establish the next strategic plan for transformation and growth.
- Ensuring the organisation is strong financially to ensure it continues to deliver world-class, quality support and services to people with disabilities.
- Inspiring and leading a high performing, collaborative and accountable team; promoting a culture of person-centredness in service delivery and commercial practice.
- Leading a digital transformation across the organisation to improve customer experience and staff efficiency.
- Growing NT Respite Care Plus’s impact and profile and safeguarding its strong reputation
- Positioning the organisation for future sustainable growth through organic expansion, mergers and acquisitions.
- Leading and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation, which is documented and implemented as part of the quality plan;
- Developing, implement and maintain quality improvement plans and procedures that allow NTRCP to meet industry standards, and relevant legislation and provide current best practice guidelines;
- Contributing to organisational strategic planning process to ensure that quality improvement is part of everything we do;
- Developing and maintain NTRCP’s Internal and External Audit Schedule
- Taking a lead role in the resolution of significant client complaints;
- Taking a lead role in investigating, doing root cause analysis on quality-related incidents and developing of QI action plans
- Having a key focus on staff development across business sites in relation to Quality, Assurance and HR roles and responsibilities
- Reporting externally to the NDIA and the NDIS Commission
- Ensuring the company has systems and procedures in place at all sites for recording and responding to quality-related incidents, issues, and improvement initiatives

- ISO 31000: 2018 Risk Management
- Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and the accompanying Regulations
- NDIS Practice Standards
The ability to participate in a rotational on Call (out of hours) roster will be part of the role. There will be a requirement for the position to be available out of hours as an escalation point to respond or support the on call team in dealing with urgent significant client/ staff issues of concern that occur within their cluster.
Essential
–Degree Qualification – Masters in the relevant field and/or relevant experience of a minimum of 3 – 4 years in the sector
– In-depth knowledge and experience working across the NDIS and compliance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission Framework and Practice standards.
– Expert knowledge of WH&S legislation, regulations, codes and standards
– A thorough conceptual understanding of risk management principles
– Interpretation of relevant Government acts, regulations and policies experience
– Ability to influence capability at all stakeholder levels
– Proactive with a high level of initiative and excellent organisation skills.
– Demonstrated project management skills, and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
– Strong commitment to inclusion of people with disabilities within the community;
Desirable
– Proven experience developing, implementing and maintaining business systems;
– Previous experience in the conducting and coordination of audits;
– Ability to use initiative and work in a self motivated manner;
– Ability to work under pressure and effectively multi-task;
– Experience working as a part of multi-disciplinary team;
– Auditing qualification;
– Previous experience working with ISO9001, 4801, and Disability Service standards;
– Experience working in the disability services sector;
– Understand the principles of empowerment and social integration.
