Aviation Logistics Group is seeking a dynamic, experienced and passionate Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Finance Manager (FM), to oversee the financial landscape of a diverse portfolio of companies.
Aviation Logistics is one of Australia’s largest general aviation groups offering scheduled passenger services, charter flights, freight, critical aeromedical flights, road patient transport and engineering services via its associated companies – Air Link, AirMed, Chartair, GroundMed and Air Link Engineering.
The group operates a fleet of 70 Aircraft, 30 Patient Transport Vehicles and employs a team of 270 professionals across seven bases in Melbourne (Essendon Airport), Sydney (Bankstown Airport), Dubbo, Brisbane (Archerfield Airport), Alice Springs, Katherine and Darwin. The group also operates four aircraft maintenance facilities, providing both in-house and customer aircraft maintenance programs, and its foundations date back to 1974.
You will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial integrity and ensuring effective and efficient financial processes and controls are in place through reporting, planning, budgeting, strategic decision-making, and commercial analysis. You will work closely with the CEO, Board, and Executive Leadership Team.
The role will be based in Bankstown, Sydney. However, occasional interstate travel may be required each year. The remuneration package will be based on experience.
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee financial management and reporting for all companies.
- Develop and review annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
- Provide monthly variance analysis to budgets and forecasts.
- Present accurate financial results and insights to the CEO, Board and financiers in a timely manner.
- Liaise with external accountants and lawyers on all tax matters to ensure compliance with financial, tax and other obligations.
- Conduct research and analysis for potential investment opportunities.
- Prepare individual and consolidated accounts across several entities.
- Prepare and present financial statements and management accounts in accordance with approved accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce/Finance and professional accreditation (CA/CPA).
- Significant industry experience in a finance role at an executive level.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing opportunities and business cases and providing strategic advice, direction and recommendations across a geographically spread business environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to forge effective partnerships with a wide range of key stakeholders.
- People management experience and the ability to lead, develop and inspire others.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
