The Role

Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure investments align with our mission, vision, and values while delivering tangible benefits to our communities.
This is a pivotal role managing the company's portfolio, ensuring that each property contributes optimally to CHL’s overall investment strategy. With a focus on aligning property investments with the company's financial objectives and risk appetite, the CIO will collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Development Officer (CDO) to make strategic decisions regarding property acquisition, disposition, and optimisation, ensuring social change, and promoting sustainable development. Further, you will evaluate the financial viability of projects, analyse cash flows and determine return on investment, both commercial and social.
You will also be responsible for Developing and Implementing the Company's Investment Strategy, including securing finance, undertaking commercial analysis and commercial negotiation to secure optimal funding options to support our social housing initiatives, while maintaining financial stability and growth.
About You
To be successful for this role, we’re looking for a someone who is Strategic and skilled at developing and implementing an Investment Strategy.
Essential Criteria
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Extensive experience in investment management, finance, or real estate, preferably with a focus on social impact investing.
Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, with the ability to balance social impact goals with financial performance objectives.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive results through collaboration.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
Commitment to our organisation's mission, vision, and values, with a passion for social impact and community development.
