In addition to strategic oversight, the COO will champion a culture of respect, inclusivity, and high performance within the organisation. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and fostering collaboration will be integral to achieving operational excellence. The COO will ensure compliance with statutory obligations and promote best practice work, health and safety measures, prioritising the well-being of employees and visitors.
The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in senior leadership positions, ideally within the local government or a related public sector setting. They should demonstrate a proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and effective stakeholder engagement. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities are essential for success in this role. A strong commitment to fostering workplace diversity, promoting inclusion, and ensuring safety is paramount. The successful candidate will embody these values and demonstrate a dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment for all employees.
