*Consideration will be given to applicants who may wish to retain a clinical load and undertake this role on a part time basis.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated depth of knowledge and experience of pathology, clinical governance, and quality requirements, including understanding of government regulations/policies, key industry trends, NSWHP’s reform agenda, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and the ability to apply that knowledge to local health service needs and the broader health service needs of the people of NSW.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead clinicians and contribute at a senior executive level to organisation wide issues including initiate and achieve significant change and improvement in pathology setting.
- Proven high level leadership and change management skills, and capacity to build an effective team.
- Conceptual and innovative problem-solving skills for managing conflicting priorities and developing timely, successful recommendations and advice on policies, strategies, and solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and motivational skills which demonstrate a capacity to build.
- Knowledge and understanding of public health policy issues including evidence-based practice, and health care safety and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to provide peak level groups/individuals with authoritative advice to enable these groups/individuals to make informed decisions on health service provision and the use of resources.
- Registration as a medical specialist in pathology with FRCPA or equivalent and other relevant tertiary qualifications in a pathology discipline and relevant experience with a commitment and capacity to implement, and provide leadership in Government policies and practices, including EEO, WHS, cultural diversity, ethical practice, and continuous improvement.
The Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Health Care Workers) Order 2021 commenced on 26 August 2021. The Order establishes mandatory requirements for health staff and persons working in health settings to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine. Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination will now be required for all NSW Health staff.
This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand Policy Directive PD2022_030 Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination against specified diseases. All new recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. New recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.
