As Chief Property Officer you will have the unique opportunity to help bring to fruition, the City of Ryde’s vision of becoming Sydney’s premier destination to work, live, and play.
About the Role
This key position – Chief Property Officer – reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer will work as part of the wider senior management team to lead the delivery of the City of Ryde’s property transformation program. Functionally the role’s key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership to both the property team and the wider business, creating a foundation for the provision of best in class services to both the residents and business communities of Ryde.
Outside of these core responsibilities it is expected that, driven by a passion for innovation, you will promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the property team and broader organisation whilst providing expert advice to both the Executive Leadership team, Mayor and Councillors.

About You

The City of Ryde is a thriving part of Sydney. which whilst presenting great opportunities brings with it associated challenges. As a highly regarded property professional – from either a government or private sector background – you will bring with you a significant track record of leading transformational property change, service delivery and management of complex commercial contracts in a large, multi-disciplined organisation. This includes knowledge and experience with leading and managing the complexities of Voluntary Planning Agreements or comparable instruments.
Key to your own success will be your ability to personally impact and constructively challenge - at organisational level – existing norms and to operate confidently at senior levels with elected representatives and senior partners, both within Council, across Government and within the private sector.
Familiarity of relevant legislation within the Local Government context is preferable but not essential, as is knowledge and understanding of the changing social, political, and economic issues facing the local government sector. Lastly, the position will suit an individual who is passionate about property, community and people leadership and who has a strong sense of integrity and ownership.
It is further expected that the successful applicant will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field together with a current membership of a Property Professional Body or demonstrable equivalent experience and willingness to achieve this upon appointment.
