Exciting role for a Senior/2IC Scientist with a strong clinical microbiology background ready to progress their career into a Chief Scientist position.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- A minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory including practical abilities in analysing bacteriology, mycology, and parasitology samples
- Experience working with laboratory-based analytical tasks and multiple instrument platforms.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
- Membership with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS) or eligibility.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification
Your key responsibilities: -
- Clinical result validation and interpretation
- Method validation and verification
- Oversee all aspects of Quality including external quality assurance, writing, and implementing SOPS
- Manage employee recruitment, training, rosters, and work performance
- Ensure all work practices and procedures comply with NATA, TGA, NPACC regulations
- Stay abreast of market developments as well as scientific literature
