About us:
The Stronger Families Stronger Communities program is a consortium between InComPro Aboriginal Association and UnitingCare Wesley Bowden.
The Child and Family Practitioner provides early intervention services that promote the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and their families. The primary aim of this role is to interrupt intergenerational disadvantage and prevent entry or escalation into statutory child protection services through the delivery of targeted activities.
About the role:
- Work with families at low and medium risk of child safety concerns to support children and young people to be safe and well in their families, community, and culture.
- Strengthen Child and Family safety, wellbeing, and Family functioning; increase families’ awareness of and access to community supports and connection to culture; and strengthen families’ capacity to reach their potential.
- Deliver services that are child centred, strengths-based, and trauma responsive.
- Act and behave with integrity and in accordance with the organisation’s code of conduct and values.
About you
- Minimum Cert IV or extensive relevant experience
- Current driver’s licence and ability to drive pool vehicles.
- Experience in the out of home care sector
- Experience in working closely with Aboriginal families and communities
- Experience in coordinating, developing, and facilitating training programs
- Previous Case management experience desirable
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills (written and oral)
- Excellent organisation and time management with the ability to prioritise effectively
Special Conditions:
- Employment is subject to obtaining a Working with Children Check and a NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Flexibility and willingness to travel and work between locations.
- Interstate and Intrastate travel as required
