Salary: $87,000 - $100,000 (pro rata + 11% Super + $18,500 Salary Packaging


About the Role

Be a part of a multidisciplinary team (Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists) that is passionate and dedicated to providing programs and services to children and families.  Child Development Specialist – Speech Pathologist (School Readiness) will provide capacity building allied health sessions to kindergarten educators and parents in order to meet the requirements of the Department of Education and Training's School Readiness Funding (SRF) program.

As the Child Development Specialist – Speech Pathologist (School Readiness) you will:

  •  Draw on discipline-specific knowledge to plan, develop, and facilitate capacity-building sessions for kindergarten educators and/or parents, and develop resources to support these sessions (note – some kindergartens may request sessions in the evening after 5pm).
  • Work alongside other members of a multidisciplinary allied health team to engage with kindergarten services in the target areas (City of Port Phillip, Stonnington, Glen Eira, Bayside & Kingston).
  • Be the key allied health contact for select kindergarten services.
  • Collaborate with other members of the SRF team to assist with program development and reporting.
  • Participate in monthly supervision, practice reviews, staff, and team meetings.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in speech pathology
  • Excellent knowledge of Child Development and evidence-based approaches to supporting children and families.
  • Demonstrated experience working in early childhood intervention, family support, and/or early childhood education.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver capacity-building and group sessions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A sound understanding of the social model of health.
  • Experience in the planning, development, and facilitation of SRF allied health sessions (desirable).
