Child Health Nurse - Health Assessments

This is a newly established role, focused on conducting Health Assessments for children and young people

About the Role:

You will be working for a fantastic Aboriginal Corporation which is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service. This is a newly established role, focused on conducting Health Assessments for children and young people. Enhance preventative health measures, follow-up care, and family education while delivering comprehensive primary care. Collaborate within a caring team at our community-controlled health service.
Responsibilities:

• Deliver culturally sensitive primary health care tailored to individual needs.
• Engage in consultations, providing clinical care and support.
• Perform Health Assessments to prevent health issues.
• Facilitate referrals for social, developmental, and health needs.
• Coordinate care with healthcare professionals.
• Manage recalls, immunizations, and follow-ups.
• Provide child & youth nursing services, education, and guidance.

Eligibility:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with APHRA
• Experience in pediatric or adolescent nursing.
• Knowledge of child protection legislation and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to providing culturally sensitive care.
• Understanding of Aboriginal health and community contexts is desirable.
• Postgraduate qualifications - Child and Maternal Health (Highly regarded); or Mental Health (Highly regarded).
