Ditch the hospital hustle
As a Child Health nurse, you already have an understanding of the difficulty this role entails. Do you have the confidence and drive to help kids and their families in some of the most remote communities in the Pilbara? Working in a rural region like the Pilbara is an experience everyone should try once in their life.
Be a superhero for tiny humans
As we all know, nurses are the backbone of our health and wellbeing, Child Health Nurses are a strong pillar for the development of our children from birth to school aged. Building relationships, and watching them grow is all part of the job, which will become a personality trait once you find that passion. It's well-known health services and hospitals around Australia are short-staffed, this is one of those jobs that will give back to you tenfold, unlike any other health service.
Your role as a Child Health nurse starts with your compassion and attitude towards those that need it the most. For the children, you will be monitoring their health, and wellbeing, administering vaccinations, and developing care plans for children with chronic conditions, but it doesn't stop there. Building a relationship with the child's families is just as important. Child Health Nurses are a great source for advice, especially when it comes to sleep routines, common childhood illnesses and supporting parents experiencing postnatal depression, or anxiety.
