It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and societyAbout Early Learning VictoriaThe Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated, Early Learning and Childcare Centres, offering childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep, where applicable. We are working with local government and the community to plan each centre, and we are looking for people who are passionate about early childhood education. These centres will be co-located with schools, hospitals, TAFEs and major employers, andmay be co-located maternal and child health services and playgroups for convenient access. The first four will open in 2025, with all 50 open by 2032. Early Learning Victoria is being set up as a new business unit within the Department of Education to establish and operate the 50 centres. We are building a team of high performers, that are willing to be work adaptively to achieve this ambitious reform agendaAbout the RoleYou will support both the central and centre-based teams comprehensively implement the Child Safe Standards and the Child Information Sharing Scheme across all policy, practice, and operational decisions. You will be responsible for monitoring data in relation to Child Safety and incidents, developing and implementing policies in this field. The role will also include sourcing and developing appropriate training resources to support the implementation of Child Safe Standards across Early Learning Victoria centres. It is an exciting opportunity to influence and support the establishment of Early Learning Victoria in a way that enhances children's learning and development outcomes and our commitment to Child SafetyYour duties will include
- Developing policies and procedures to support the implementation of the Child Safe Standards at both an organisational and centre level
- Revising and adapting policies where necessary to pro-actively address safety concerns
- Supporting centre staff to navigate the Child Information Sharing Scheme
- Developing training materials to support the implementation of the Child Safe Standards, the Child Information Sharing Scheme and relevant NQS areas
- Developing relationships with relevant stakeholders and government departments to ensure updates to policy and legislation are implemented in a timely manner
- Policy development and design, including strong analytical, conceptual, and written communication skills
- Planning and managing timeframes, understanding the political and organizational environment
- Collaborating and building relationships within the department, government, and with external stakeholders
- Recent practical experience within the early childhood education sector
- Practical experience implementing Child Safe Standards in an early learning context
- Relevant tertiary qualification in early childhood education
- Understanding of the early childhood sector at a provider level is highly regarded
