About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Assistant! You will assist to provide quality childcare in accordance with the prepared Childcare program as well as support the under 5 age group and their families by providing a quality childcare program relevant for the wider community and The Salvation Army consumers.
Responsibilities include
Assist in preparation and implementation of a childcare program that suits the needs, interests and developmental stages of the children in the room
Derive ideas for activities/room themes from the interests in the families by including children's voices in activities planned
Work with children with individual needs as appropriate
Create age appropriate activities for children which engage the children according to their stage of development
Recognise potential indicators of trauma associated with developmental status of children
Identify attachment issues in children and respond appropriately
Promote a safe and healthy workplace
This is a casual position, based in Ballarat, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Children Services Award Level 3.
You will have
Certificate III in Children’s Services
Substantial human service management skills in a benefit. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the childcare education and care service field is preferred
Demonstrated working knowledge of all licensing and legislation relating to the provision of Children’s Services and commitment to the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics
A valid Employee Working with Children's Check
Current and valid First Aid and Anaphylaxis qualifications
