About the role
We are seeking a dedicatedChildcare Assistant! You will assist to provide quality childcare in accordance with the prepared Childcare program as well as support the under 5 age group and their families by providing a quality childcare program relevant for the wider community and The Salvation Army consumers.
Responsibilities include
- Assist in preparation and implementation of a childcare program that suits the needs, interests and developmental stages of the children in the room
- Derive ideas for activities/room themes from the interests in the families by including children's voices in activities planned
- Work with children with individual needs as appropriate
- Create age appropriate activities for children which engage the children according to their stage of development
- Recognise potential indicators of trauma associated with developmental status of children
- Identify attachment issues in children and respond appropriately
- Promote a safe and healthy workplace
This is a casual position, based in Ballarat, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Children Services Award Level 3.
You will have
- Certificate III in Children's Services
- Substantial human service management skills in a benefit. Minimum of 5 years' experience in the childcare education and care service field is preferred
- Demonstrated working knowledge of all licensing and legislation relating to the provision of Children's Services and commitment to the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics
- A valid Employee Working with Children's Check
- Current and valid First Aid and Anaphylaxis qualifications
