Exciting opportunity to join the Childhood and Youth Planning team in the City of Wanneroo
- 1 Part Time Fixed Term (Parental Leave until July 2025 - 30.4 hours per week)
- Salary from $87,329 to $94,389 per annum (full-time equivalent), plus superannuation
About the Position
The City is seeking a motivated and innovative person with a strong focus in youth, who has experience in policy writing, social planning, research and project management to join the Childhood and Youth Planning team. The role will utilise your skills in strategic youth and childhood development, community capacity building, policy development, relationship building, project management, data analysis, strategic writing and advocacy to deliver social outcomes for our community.
This is a busy and challenging role, requiring strong drive, commitment and passion to achieving great outcomes for our community. This role has a focus on developing and implementing strategically focussed Childhood and Youth Development actions and projects.
We are seeking someone with excellent relationship building skills, an ability to consider broader City or community impacts of any work being undertaken and good problem solving and analytical skills.
Key aspects of your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing and evaluating community plans, policies focused on young people.
- Supporting the implementation of the City's Community Development and other social plans
- Organising and participating in community and stakeholder reference groups and networks.
- Developing strategic relationships government agencies, industry bodies, service providers and other key stakeholders, with a focus on capacity building.
- Advocating for and facilitating community-based youth initiatives delivered through sustainable partnerships.
- Liaising with customers and stakeholders on community development matters.
About You
You will be an adaptable and collaborative community development professional, with specific skills and experience in Childhood and Youth Development, community development, community needs assessment and project management. You will thrive working in a busy and change driven organisation and positively contribute to the team's culture.
