The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

Port Phillip Libraries are seeking a dynamic and innovative Children’s and Youth Services Librarian to join our libraries team.

You will deliver a range of learning programs and services for young people in our libraries that align with the City of Port Phillip Library Action Plan 2021 – 2026

Duties
  • Design, deliver and evaluate innovative programs and services for children, youth and their carer’s that respond to the needs of your community.
  • Develop partnerships and community networks that increase learning opportunities for your community.
  • Collaborate with the library’s Collections Team to develop diverse and inclusive library collections for children and Youth that meet contemporary reading and learning needs.   
  • Act as shift supervisor during rostered customer service shifts. 
Skills and Experience 
  • Librarianship qualification recognised by ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association), or equivalent relevant experience in a public library setting. 
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of innovative and effective children’s and Youth learning programs in a library setting.  
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing community partnerships and managing stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing collections for children and Youth.
