About Torrensville Community Childcare Centre

We are a community of educators who are committed to developing each child’s full potential by providing high quality care and individually tailored education for children from birth to school age. As an incorporated, not-for-profit organisation, we reinvest all surplus funds into the centre to benefit the children. Torrensville Community Childcare Centre (TCCC) is a social enterprise of UCWB a well-known not for profit organisation, which means that any profits generated by the services we provide go back into services which benefit the community.

About the Role

We are seeking a casual Certificate III qualified Children’s Services Educator to provide high quality childcare services at our community childcare centre.
Our Children’s Services Educators are responsible for supporting the educational and developmental needs of the children at our centre through assisting with the preparation, implementation and evaluation of suitable programs.

Specifically, the role supports the provision of high quality childcare by:

  • Nurturing and providing guidance to children from birth through to age six years
  • Working with children individually or in groups to support growth and learning
  • Implementing activities to assist children in reaching their full potential
  • Following Centre Policy and approaching behaviour guidance positively with children

About You

You are a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about early learning.  Your positive interaction skills with children and demonstrated ability to support children’s learning will be what help you succeed in this role.

You will have: 

  • A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proven ability to interact with children in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner
  • Knowledge of current child care practices and the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Knowledge of maintenance of health and safety of children in care
  • Experience interacting with groups of children up to 6 years of age
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Current DHS Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one at your own cost
  • Successful completion of relevant responding to abuse and neglect training
  • Appropriate skills, knowledge and training in food safety and hygienic handling of food and equipment as required under the Food Safety Legislation 2001
