Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation.
Reporting to the CHPP Operations Superintendent, you will lead a team of operator/maintainers on 7/7 Day/Night roster to ensure the safe, efficient and productive operation of coal handling and processing functions from the ROM to the TLO.
Your knowledge of optimising mineral processing equipment will allow you to improve the performance of existing unit operations and identify improvement opportunities to maximise yield while continuing to meet product specification and throughput targets. You will help develop and execute maintenance plans and effectively prioritise resources for breakdowns and reactive maintenance, working closely with multiple levels of the maintenance team.
You are an experienced leader with a previous background leading a team in a mineral processing facility, and will have a demonstrated understanding of how to develop your team members.
The interpretation of lab data to identify problems and develop solutions is a key function of this position, and previous experience with maintenance management software (specifically SAP) will be advantageous.
Whilst promoting continuous improvement, you will be required to demonstrate a commitment to and reinforce the company values to all employees and ensure compliance with all HSEC and Legislative Requirements.
Relevant tertiary education or a trade qualification as an electrician, fitter, or boilermaker is desirable, together with a sound understanding of relevant legislation in a mineral processing environment.
