You will complete a Certificate III Civil Construction over 36 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Sutherland Shire Council.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
Maintain, operate and construct the civil assets which include all road and stormwater infrastructure
Be involved in physically demanding tasks including, but not limited to, working with ready-mix concrete and asphalt, excavation, surveying and concrete cutting
Operation of plant and equipment
Become accredited and undertake traffic management
Participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments
Assist qualified trades people in performing daily civil maintenance activities and construction within the Sutherland Shire LGA

Ability to work as part of a team
Commitment to both on and off the job training
A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work safely and follow instructions
High attention to detail
Demonstrated interest and passion in Civil Construction
White card (or willingness to obtain)
Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol screening
Current Manual Drivers Licence (P1 or above)
