Job Description
As a Civil Design Engineer or Civil Designer within our Roads team in our Transport business, you will focus on delivering comprehensive design and documentation for the civil design of freeways, rural, urban and local roads.
With a strong portfolio of projects in hand, as well as a significant project pipeline we are looking for the missing piece to complete our team and culture.
You will be responsible for
- Deliver and manage detailed design drawings for Civil infrastructure as a part of the roads division
- Design of main Roads in accordance with Austroads standards
- Design of major and minor drainage infrastructure with an understanding of hydrological principles with appropriate water management and treatments
- Undertaking preliminary and final designs as well as prepare concept drawings, while also engaging in design and drawing reviews
- Prepare relevant servicing, development and safety reports
- Prepare Schedules, Design hold points, Checks, and design management of projects
- Fostering relationships with current and potential clients building on your existing networks to generate new business
- Mentoring and developing skills of other members of the team
Ideally, you will have Ideally, 5-10 years' experience within a similar consultancy environment undertaking civil design of freeways, rural, urban, and local roads. In addition to this, you will also have:
- Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or demonstrated relevant work experience in Civil Design
- Proficient in 12D and AutoCad
- Working knowledge of AutoTURN or Vehicle Tracking
- Good understanding of Austroads and relevant Australian Standards
- Knowledge of TfNSW standards.
- Demonstrated experience of Stormwater drainage design including underground pipework and overland flow analysis
- A thorough understanding of civil engineering principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
