AddressvT Consulting Engineers is looking for an experienced and qualified Civil Designer to join our team!
vT Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd is a busy Brisbane based multi-discipline engineering consultancy that has an established civil and structural engineering team. We work on a wide range of projects including multi-unit residential, commercial, education and industrial developments, with plenty of opportunities to expand into many new areas with our exceptional team. Our office is located in the eastern suburbs and street parking is available. We strongly encourage team spirit by organising numerous staff social activities throughout the year.
Your Role
Ideally you will have demonstrated project experience working on a wide range of residential, multi-unit residential, commercial and industrial projects in Southeast Queensland. You will need to have a working knowledge and understanding of earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage, sewer reticulation and water reticulation.
The role of Civil Designer will play a key part in the continuing growth of our trusted company. You will be required to work closely with the head of the civil team as well as the other lead drafters, while learning new skills in project coordination. As a member of a small team, you are able to gain a vast amount of experience in all aspects of project design. This will extend from the start to finish of the project. Being involved in all aspects of the project is the best way to fully enhance your experience and work satisfaction.
The successful applicant will:
- Possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Hold a minimum of 3-5 years experience working within the Australian consulting environment.
- Manage your own projects to achieve required deadlines. This includes managing own time, and drafters time to achieve all milestones expected by the client. The applicant is expected to effectively plan, direct and co-ordinate all aspects of the project.
- Work in a confident, independent manner without detailed supervision, but with guidance on aspects of the project they may not have previous experience with.
- Accept that your recommendations may be reviewed for soundness of judgement, but your work is usually technically correct, and in accordance with Australian Codes and civil engineering principals.
- Be accountable for the profitability of own projects and can effectively plan for, and request assistance if project is going over budget. The applicant is expected to review own hours spent, and hours project team members have spent on a project and provide explanation and solution for project being over budget, promoting efficient practices.
- Approach your work in a positive, confident manner and effectively communicate with team members and clients in a respectful way.
