Position Summary

Civil Engineering responsibilities

• Perform engineering duties including overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, and facilities, such as roads, pipelines, and water and sewage systems. 
• Provide construction estimates, quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labour.
• Analyse and interpret survey reports, construction drawings and design changes.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety/sanitation standards.
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction methodology, or programme modifications.
• Identify engineering and construction constraint / problems and assess the potential impact of projects.
• Provide support to the projects team in both Civil and Hydraulics 

Contract Administration responsibilities

• Provide assistance and guidance to project managers and the broader team on commercial and contract obligations and future projections for Contract variations.
• Liaise with project teams on their procurement requirements. 
• Supplier and subcontractor invoice review and approval, project cost tracking and project analysis. 
• Work closely with Construction Managers, Supervisors and Accounts in allocating, reviewing and approving of invoices and progress claims to various projects.
• Communicate and negotiate with trades to obtain quotations and track the progress of jobs. 
• Dispute/issue resolution with trades and delivery teams, as required. 
• Assist in organising contracts, processing quotes and updating variations. 
• Create and update job programmes throughout job. 
• Prepare monthly progress claims to the Clients. 
• Ensure the timely and accurate processing of accounts. 

Skills and Experience

Experience and Knowledge

• At least 3 years of experience working as a Civil Engineer in the civil works / construction space
• Understanding of construction process and industry requirements
• Intermediate to Advance MS Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
