Civil Engineer

Due to business growth, we have two positions available for  Undergraduate (Casual with hours to support your studies), and Graduate (Full time) Engineers to join our team. Joining Downs Roadside Engineering is your opportunity to opportunity to fast track your skills development by working closely with Senior Engineers.

The Role:

In both of these diverse roles you can expect to gain and grow your skills in Civil Engineering. Our team primarily works on roads, surface water and built environment projects. The below is some of the areas you can expect to  learn and/or refine your skillset in across a  variety of design, risk analysis and reporting:

• Hydrology, hydraulic modelling
  • 1D and 2D modelling
  • Stormwater management plans
  • Water quality design
  • Design of stormwater infrastructure and detention basins 
• Flood Analysis
  • Flood impact assessments
  • Flood risk assessments
  • Flood risk management plans
• Civil Design, Road Design and Road Safety (incl. software use)
  • Site gradings
  • Geometric and road furniture design
  • Infrastructure planning and design
  • Safe system assessments
  • Road safety audits
  • Review, comprehension and implementation of IFC designs
• Traffic and Transport
  • Impact assessments
  • Swept path analysis
• Contract Administration and Site Supervision
  • Contract delivery and Contract Administrator support
  • Contract document preparation
  • Supervise construction and assess works in progress in line with contractual hold points.
