The Gig

With an exciting pipeline of infrastructure projects ahead, we're seeking an experienced Civil Estimator who can strategically optimise bids for profitability before projects break ground.

As Civil Estimator, you're responsible for consistently delivering accurate cost estimates for civil tenders. You'll focus on pricing Civil Construction projects drainage and earthworks using 'First principle' estimating. Additionally, you'll actively contribute to building and nurturing customer relationships playing a visible role internally and externally.

Based in Western Sydney, and reporting to the Estimating Manager,

You will be trusted with:

• Playing a lead estimator role overseeing tender processes, compiling first principles and resource-based cost estimates with fully resourced programs.
• Collaborating closely with project stakeholders to interpret requirements, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
• Utilising advanced estimating software to prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, meeting rigorous company standards.
• Analysing project drawings and documentation to identify risks, challenges, and opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Cultivating strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing, enhancing project cost efficiency.
• Integrating sustainable solutions into cost estimates, reflecting the organisation's commitment to environmental stewardship.
• Participating in project meetings and site visits to gather crucial information and assess conditions.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality management systems, maintaining project integrity.

What’s In Your Toolbox?You're a skilled multi-tasker ready for challenges. You excel in all aspects of communication, can handle multiple bids simultaneously, and you bring:

• Minimum 3 years of Civil Estimating experience
• Proficiency in first principles estimating
• Your ability to interpret drawings/plans for estimating purposes
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to work independently
• Benchmarking expertise
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
