Civil Project Supervisor

VE Group AU are a Civil Contracting, Plant Hire and Transport Logistics Company looking for a Civil Project Supervisor to join our Southeast Queensland Operations Team. VE Group currently provides services across several industry sectors including urban development, transport infrastructure, and resources.  We self-perform our projects throughout Queensland, with a late model and owned plant fleet of civil and transport equipment.

This role would suit someone who first and foremost aligns to our values and has a solid background in supervising self-performed earthworks, pavement and drainage projects.   Your experience should demonstrate proficiency in TMR specifications, resource planning and team leadership. Demonstrated success in ensuring strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards, coupled with a track record of navigating specification compliance. In addition, experience in financial monitoring to drive project success within established financial parameters.

As a VE Group Civil Project Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the seamless execution of Civil Projects, overseeing plant operations, and coordinating skilled operators and subcontractors.  Your role will entail ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will also work closely with the company’s Project Manager, Maintenance and Asset Supervisors, and Operations Team.

The role encompasses the following responsibilities: 

• Lead and coordinate the successful execution of field works for concurrent project sites.
• Manage plant, operators, and subcontractors to optimise project outcomes.
• Contribute to the project program and recommend resource allocation.
• Oversee safety, environmental compliance, and emergency response plans.
• Collaborate on project budgets, cost estimations, and financial monitoring.
• Recommend recruitment requirements, and lead team learning and development.
• Allocate daily tasks, coordinate site logistics, and manage work schedules.
• Facilitate inspections, audits, and quality control measures.
• Foster effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Cert III or higher in Civil Construction Supervision.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role delivering earthworks, pavements and drainage.
• Strong communication, organisational, and planning skills.
• General Construction Induction Card.
• Competent in Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and specification.
• Current Drivers Licence
