Civil Site Engineer - Melbourne

Workfast are looking for a Civil Site Engineer to join a mid-tier civil construction contractor across Metro-Melbourne on a full time basis

Our client is a respectable mid-tier civil construction contractor with a solid network of contacts in the sector. In order to ensure adherence to business expectations, rules, and procedures while upholding the highest levels of safety and quality, you will oversee and manage activities while on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify cost savings and efficiency gains, and recommend solutions.
• Conduct planning, organising, and resourcing of specific operations to achieve priority targets.
• Communicate key targets to the work team and ensure understanding of daily priorities.
• Check drawings and quantities, and collaborate with supervisors on choice of plant/materials.
• Maintain daily costings and production records.
• Prepare progress claims and manage project QA documentation.
• Monitor on-site safety, quality, and environmental issues, taking appropriate action as directed.
• Control and distribute drawings and documents in line with Quality Assurance System requirements.
• Report non-conformances and opportunities to the Project Manager.
• Assist in identifying critical project stages and scheduling project meetings.
• Coordinate subcontractors for variations and defects, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
• Provide support to Graduate Engineer

• General safety induction card.
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of the construction industry and modern construction techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
