Genus Industrial Services is seeking a [passionate Civil Site Manager for Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub.
Project Overview:
Genus - in joint venture with Samsung C&T Corporation - has been awarded three contracts for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for the Balance of Plant scope and BESS installation for a 600MW/1,600MWh battery energy storage project for Phase 1 of the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub (MREH) on a lump sum and turn-key basis.
MREH is a globally significant energy storage precinct located 25km northwest of Melbourne’s commercial business district. Fully developed, it will be a 1.2GW/2.4GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS); one of the world's biggest.
Once complete the Hub will deliver 1.6 gigawatt hours of energy storage, with potential to expand. That’s enough to power around 200,000 homes during peak evening consumption.
This is a major milestone in the State Electricity Commission plans to deliver renewable, affordable and reliable energy for all Victorians.
The MREH will help firm up energy generated by Victoria's wind and solar projects - including through the Victorian Renewable Energy Target auctions (VRET 1 & 2) and the Bulgana Green Power Hub - to supply 100% renewable electricity to SEC customers.
The person who Genus is looking for possess the following attributes.
- Demonstrated Project Management experience
- Good understanding and commitment to promote a safe workplace
- A minimum 5 years relevant construction experience
- Have a sound understanding of typical construction specifications
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated experience delivering civil infrastructure projects
- Ability to mentor, train and support Engineers and supervisors
- Excellent people skills.
