Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are now seeking applications from enthusiastic, experienced Civil Structures Engineer to join our NSW Infrastructure team

Your Role

The Sydney Underground Structures team is a leader in the design of underground structures including cut and cover tunnels, retaining wall, foundations and other Civil Structures in the NSW market. With a growing pipeline of work across a range of different projects and sectors, we are seeking a mid-level Civil Structures Engineer to join our underground structures team and provide expertise to our projects.

The role offers an exciting opportunity for career progression within a dynamic and vibrant team to deliver sustainable outcomes and client service excellence. With focus on underground structures design, this role would suit someone seeking to be the interface between structural and geotechnical design with a solid understanding of both disciplines, or an interest in adapting their existing skills in one discipline while developing new skills in the other.

Here are the key things you will do to 'bring ideas to life'.

• Work as part of a team to undertake the design of underground and Civil Structures at all design stages from early concept development to final construction issue and construction support
• Perform detailed soil structure interaction analysis on a variety of structures and engage with the wider design team to ensure the developed design solutions address the project requirements and are integrated with other design disciplines
• Collaborate with our digital modellers to produce drawings and models which capture the information requirements of our projects and clearly describe these requirements to the client and contractors

What can you bring to the team?

The preferred candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Structural / Geotechnical / Civil Engineering with around 5 years' experience, preferably with exposure to the structural design of underground / Civil Structures. Your career to date will have included:

• Relevant experience in the design and documentation of retaining structures, deep shafts, cut and cover tunnels and/or reinforced soil and rock construction.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards, TfNSW specifications and structural and/or geotechnical analysis software
• Experience in successfully working in a consultancy setting as part of project teams with both internal and external clients. Experience in transport work sectors preferred
• Interest in further developing existing skills in both structural and geotechnical engineering
• Ability to apply technical design skills to ensure solutions are safe, efficient and meet quality requirements
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment and in communicating concepts/ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A passion to engage in the creative and innovative development of digital engineering technology
