AddressThe Role
We are currently seeking a Civil Superintendent to support civil infrastructure and maintenance projects in Rockingham.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and supervision, including mentoring and direct supervision of works including:
- Civil concrete construction including formwork, reo, concrete placement, remedial concrete works.
- Detailed earthworks including excavation, select fill, stabilised fill, remediation works etc.
- Drainage / in-ground services
- Road construction including road base construction, surfacing
- Specialist subcontractor scopes of work (road surfacing, road marking etc)
- Implement and maintain traffic control to rural / low volume urban roads
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of civil workers.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.
- Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
- Order or requisition materials or supplies.
- Liaise with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
- Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
- Complete specified forms and reports on production, operational data and employees.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience with both structures and earthworks. Pipework/pipelaying desirable.
- Considerable experience with civil construction and/or remediation works.
- Site supervisors must have, or have commenced, a certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision, Frontline Management or Work Health and Safety (WHS).
- Demonstrated experience in effective HSQE management
- Good computer skills
- Willingness / availability to undertake remote work where required
