The role
Currently we are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Civil Supervisor to join our team in Newcastle, NSW.
Tasks & responsibilities
This role plays a critical role within the company as you are more often than not, one of the first points of contact with our clients.
Reporting to the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Arrangement of plant, labour, subcontractor and material resources for projects
- Supervise multiple sites where necessary
- Plan & coordinate day to day works activities across multiple sites
- Lead daily prestart meetings
- On going site management including direction and monitoring of subcontractors, supplier and plant hire
- Daily monitoring of site activity costs and records
- Management, tracking and maintenance of the construction program to ensure timely completion
- Proactively addressing any site and project timeline issues, problem solving and providing solutions
- Fostering a positive culture and relationships on-site with staff suppliers and sub-contractors
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders including management, council, clients, the public and so forth
- Ensure the company and client’s quality expectations are being met
- Understanding and monitoring of OHS and environmental requirements
- Ensuring compliance to site policies and procedures
Qualifications & experience
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- 5+ years civil experience in a role of a similar nature with a reputable contractor
- ‘Hands on’ and ‘from the ground up’ experience
- Ability to manage multiple sites
- Experience in delivering infrastructure projects including residential and industrial sub-divisions, road-works, bulk earthworks, car parks, stormwater works and so forth
- Proven success in delivering civil construction projects within the required time-frames
- Highly capable of leading and managing a team
- Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholders
- The ability to lead and direct contractors and other employees
- Capable of reading and interpreting all types of civil plans and standards
- Enthusiastic, reliable & self-motivated
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
- Be willing to work at various locations across the Hunter Region
- Competent computer skills
