Your new role
We are looking for a Claims Advisor to join our dynamic team. As a member of our team you will -
- Manage a portfolio of claims from lodgement to resolution
- Assess claims for reasonable and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation needs
- Investigate claims and interpret medical documents with a focus on proactive claims management
- Ensure legislative compliance timeframes are met in conjunction with following all internal policies and procedures
- Provide an excellent level of customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
- Calculate settlement offers, negotiate settlements and attend settlement conferences with lawyers and Counsel
- Display behaviours that contribute and drive a positive culture
Important to your Success
- 3-5 years Insurance experience in management of North Queensland Claims - Highly Regarded
- Local knowledge of North Queensland and a working relationship with stakeholders in the region
- High standard of written communication across traditional and electronic communication media
- Be customer focussed - previous experience and ability to thrive within in a high paced, high volume environment
- Resilient in nature
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills (including managing emotionally charged situations)
- Strong time management, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Confident to make decisions and be empowered
- A keen willingness to learn with a proactive and positive attitude
- Good computer skills and the ability to upskill to learn new computer systems and programs
- Knowledge and/or experience in the personal injury or insurance industry is desirable
