Our QLD Workers' Compensation team are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Claims Advisor who will make a positive contribution to our team. You will be responsible for the efficient processing and management of QLD Workers' Compensation Claims. As part of managing your own portfolio of claims, you will be required to determine liabilities on new and continuing claims, make decisions in relation to the legal aspects of the claims and oversee the effective rehabilitation of the injured worker.In addition, as a Senior Claims Advisor, you will also be responsible for mentoring a small team in consultation with the QLD Team Leader. This position will suit an adaptable individual, who enjoys working autonomouly as well as part of a team.Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of contemporary person focused workers compensation claims management processes. Including knowledge of end-to-end claims management.
- Knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply legislation with respect to Qld Workers compensation legislation.
- Determine and manage a caseload of statutory claims through to finalisation in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Skilled in collaborating with stakeholders to facilitate and support employee's return to the workplace and the development and review of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Plans.
- Authorise, process, and reconcile claim payments.
- Ensure accurate, timely claims data, collation and interpretation of statistical reports.
- Conduct internal reviews of claim decisions.
- Determine statutory liability for unassessed injuries on Notices of Claims for Damages.
- Communicate with all clients and stakeholders in an accurate, professional and timely manner.
- Sound understanding of the legislation relating to workers compensation for Queensland.
- Mentor Claims Advisors.
- Maintain documentation relating to Workers Compensation requirements.
- Work as an integral member of the Workers Compensation Department.
- Help us improve the way things are done and identify improvement opportunities.
- 3 +years' experience in a worker's compensation claims management in multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlook.
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation claims management related laws, medical and legal terminology.
- Responds calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focus.
- Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skill.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
