  • $128,755.00 per annum + superannuation
  • Full time, ongoing opportunity
  • Geelong based role (hybrid work from home - 3 days in office)

About the role

The Claims Capability Specialist is a member of the Claims Support team within the Claims and Recovery Support Division (CaRS). In this role, you will use your specialist skills and expertise to provide guidance, support and development to the Claims and Recovery Support Division to promote appropriate recovery and return to work outcomes for the injured workers supported by our Division.

Key accountabilities

  • Proactively coach, mentor and share expertise, to build and develop claims management capability, efficiency, and recovery and return to work knowledge within the Claims and Recovery Support Division
  • Working in collaboration with WorkSafe's Workers Compensation Learning & Capability team, create and deliver presentations and facilitate training sessions and workshops to uplift claims management capability and recovery & return to work strategy throughout the Claims and Recovery Support Division
  • Working in collaboration with WorkSafe's Workers Compensation Learning & Capability team, utilize your technical claims expertise to develop and continuously improve learning material to support the ongoing capability uplift of the Claims and Recovery Support Division
  • Proactively identify opportunities to develop claims management capability and recovery & return to work strategy across the division. Work with stakeholders to determine the best method of achieving the identified development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Team Leader, Specialists to develop business solutions and improve capability of the team. This will be achieved through identifying improvements to processes, workflow, and claims management strategies, as well as claims management skill development
  • Provide expert advice and analysis for claims management queries relating to policy, legislation, systems, processes or procedures

About you

You are a claims and workers compensation professional who thrives in providing support and guidance to others. Your communication, coaching and organisational skills are exemplary. Your strong stakeholder engagement provides you with the ability to build rapport within the division, and across Worksafe. Your person centred approach to claims management allows you to champion this approach to the division, and is embedded within your training and coaching.

Additionally, you possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of three years' experience within Victorian Workers Compensation Legislation
  • Capability to develop and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge and understanding of injury management and rehabilitation in a compensable setting
  • Highly developed skills in coaching, influencing and relationship building
  • Experience supporting people who have complex needs
  • Ability to work with different IT applications
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe and its stakeholder landscape

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field (desirable), OR significant experience within the Victorian Workers Compensation Scheme or similar
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
