Job description

  • Multiple 12-month fixed term contracts, with full time hours and potential opportunity to extend. 
  • Remote and/or flexible working arrangements out of any of our main offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Darwin, Tasmania, Perth or Canberra.

In this position, you will: 

  • Be the first point of contact for our customers and brokers who have been impacted and experienced damage or loss during the recent weather events across Australia 
  • Provide a fast and supportive operational and customer service experience for our customers and brokers in their time of need, showcasing our QBEDNA and company values. 
  • Manage new and existing Property claims in a call centre environment in line with set procedures and policies for a prompt and effective outcome. 
  • Foster relationships with customers and both internal and external stakeholders to support the claims process. 

Dependent on experience, as a Claims Officer in our National Claims Response Team you will either manage a select part and/or the end-to-end process of claims. Training provided with potential for remote and/or flexible working arrangements out of any of our main offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Darwin, Tasmania, Perth or Canberra. 

Your story so far: 

To be successful you will have: 

  • Previous experience in customer service, administration and/or call centre role 
  • Property claims experience high desirable
  • Strong customer service skills with a highly empathetic approach. 
  • A passion for making a difference and helping people in their time of need. 
  • An engaging and courteous phone manner with the ability to type and talk concurrently. 
  • A resilient and adaptable approach with ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour.  
  • Strong computer and numeracy skills with the ability to pick up new systems quickly. 
  • An understanding of general insurance and relevant industry legislation and/or previous experience within insurance, claims and industry
