Cleaner - Children's Services

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and engaged individual to contribute to the operational needs of the council’s childcare centres by providing cleaning services. This position is a permanent parttime role (working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) based in Tumbarumba at Carcoola’s Children’s Service. Additional hours may be available on an ad hoc basis.

Working 3 hours per day, this role is ideal for someone looking to supplement their income. Hours are flexible to suit your needs, but must be worked outside of the centre hours.

Key components of this position will require the successful candidate to:

1. Deliver cleaning activities in identified buildings, office areas and toilets to meet agreed service levels.
2. Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.

The successful candidate for this position will have, or be working towards:

1. Contemporary knowledge of cleaning practices and procedures.
2. Contemporary knowledge of Safety Data Sheets for hazardous cleaning chemicals.
3. Demonstrated ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment correctly and safely.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively unsupervised.
5. Class C drivers’ licence.

SALARY

Salary will be paid in accordance with the Snowy Valleys Council Salary System at Grade 1. This grade ranges from $24.92 per hour (gross) plus 11% superannuation, negotiable based on skills, experience and education.
