Job description

For 21 years now,  SPMA have been leading the strata remedial sector.  Our ongoing success means we are constantly growing our fabulous team in an ever expanding and recession proof market.

SPMA proactively assist our clients in navigating their way through all aspects of building upgrades and remediation.

Our scope of works includes investigations, design, scoping, tendering, contracting and managing our clients’ projects. We also undertake Design Practitioner works in Facades and Architecture (waterproofing). We provide industry leading expert reports for complex building disputes. We are accredited Strata Building Bond Inspectors.

Our core values are listen, learn, investigate, optimise and deliver.  Our clients rely on us to resolve often difficult problems.  Through our experience we have the right team that works together combining expertise as demanded by the project to meet and exceed our client's needs.

The successful candidate will be based at our Waterloo office and spend a balance of time between the offices and assisting our Project Managers in the field. Periodically, you will undertake both site visits to active projects, as well as undertaking investigations of emerging projects.  Day to day oversight of your portfolio of projects will include both desktop review and site inspections.  Directing both the project itself and the project team including project stakeholders and consultants.

As client-Side Project managers, we typically are working to ensure our client's projects are properly administered in accordance with the contracts we have prepared.  Our investigations include identifying issues affecting our client's property and determining not only the best methods of remediation but also if the issue is either a building defect or maintenance issue that the Owners are obliged to rectify in accordance with the Strata Schemes Management Act.

Because our clients are home owners, it is our responsibility to ensure projects are delivered in a fiscally responsible and timely manner.  We have a portfolio of works ranging in value from as little as $10,000 to $50 million plus.  No two projects we manage are the same and you will be working on small remediation works through to highly complex alterations and additions on large high-profile buildings across some picturesque sites in the inner suburbs of Sydney.

The person we are looking for will join our team of Project Managers to deliver our services. You will report directly to the CEO. We are looking for someone who brings something unique to us, that builds our company, and provides opportunities for growth to the whole team.

We need great communicators who are constantly looking to improve what we deliver to our clients. We encourage continuing education and specialization in the areas that most interest you. We are a supportive team that encourages knowledge sharing and career development. We offer flexible arrangements for working hours and work from home options, yet the role will still require some regular office and site visit attendance each week. The role we are seeking to fulfill is exciting and challenging. As you gain experience in this complex area your responsibilities will increase.
