Job description

Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable water services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Located in Shepparton, you will lead a team of technical experts dedicated to the development and implementation of GVWs strategic direction for climate adaption, water resource management and carbon emissions reduction.\
Exemplary communication skills are a natural strength and will be invaluable in your liaisons with a wide range of stakeholders whilst technical expertise across climate risk and adaption, carbon emissions, water resource planning and energy optimisation and renewables management are well honed.
A degree in engineering or science along with previous experience in the water industry, in particular emissions reduction, water resource management and climate adaption planning, equip you well for this role.

About your new role...
Guiding a dedicated team, your professional strengths will complement their rich skills and experience and together you will play a key role supporting the organisation to meet its climate, emissions and Water resource targets.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about climate resilience and our environmental future to coordinate efforts related to climate change adaption and sustainable water resource management.
You will be joining a caring and supportive team who are based at the Shepparton Administration Centre in the Fryers Street CBD precinct. You will be afforded the ability to work flexibly, in line with GVW's flexible working policy.
About you...
To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated some of the following:

  • Degree in relevant field of Engineering or Science
  • Diploma or above in management or leadership
  • Experience in the Water Industry or similar with an emphasis on carbon emissions guidelines and legislation, renewables technology, water resource management and climate adaption planning
  • People management experience
  • Efficient in communicating complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and presentation skills.
  • Highly capable in personal initiative to independently solve problems, identify efficiencies and drive team performance
  • Strong OHS commitment and focus.
  • Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • COVID-19 Vaccinated or Exemption

  • Classification SEO2: $126,008 - $147,849 + superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant, qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
