About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Climate Transition Lead to join our team. Reporting into the Climate Strategy Manager, you will play a key role in developing Coles' decarbonisation strategy and Climate Transition plan. Working with a number of key stakeholders across our business you will:
- Manage the development and coordination of emissions reduction initiatives that mitigate risk and generate benefit for Coles
- Leverage strategic and innovative thinking to drive commercially viable solutions that create value for Coles
- Manage the deployment of strategic projects, including management of critical path and project interdependencies
- Deliver the operating and governance models required to operationalise climate initiatives
- Manage the development of our annual scope 3 emissions inventory and reporting on progress against external targets
About you and your skills
We are looking for someone with strong technical and project management experience and a passion for sustainability. This role will have an impact on future sustainability and will require a natural curiosity for ways to improve in areas of sustainability. You will also have;
- Experience in project management or retail strategy role focused on climate and sustainability
- Technical skills in carbon accounting, emissions modelling and strategy development
- Ability to scope and manage cross functional projects within a fast-paced culture of change
- Strategic, commercially driven mindset with experience applying this in a competitive retail landscape
- Excellent data analytics skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise story
- Demonstrated history of identifying commercially feasible and innovative solutions for sustainability
- Relevant Tertiary Degree - Sustainability/Business/Commerce/Engineering or similar
