Clinical Assistant Microbiology

Seeking a savvy individual to join our friendly professional team as a Clinical Assistant Microbiology. This role will assist in the provision of a high quality, customer focussed pathology microbiology and molecular service by performing data entry, specimen processing and assisting Scientific and technical staff to perform a range of diagnostic tests within the Pathology Queensland Sunshine Coast laboratory.Job details Position status Fixed Term Temporary

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of request forms, data entry and of the correct procedures for specimen processing.
• High level interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work productively in a team environment.
• Proven ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after careful instruction.
• Demonstrated experience of the correct procedures for the performance of laboratory tests including processing and setting up techniques within the microbiology and molecular departments.

Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements

• In some circumstances and following consultation, Queensland Health staff may be required to participate in 24 hour shift or on-call arrangements.
• To be eligible for permanent appointment to Pathology Queensland applicants must provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency. To be eligible for temporary appointment applicants must provide proof that they can legally work in Australia.
